The Opera House, the home of Slinky, is the countries largest independent night club which has had over 360,000 people visit its premises in the last year. Over the last couple of years The Opera House has firmly established itself as the number one centere of entertainment on the south coast and, in June 1998 was awarded the "Best Discotheque of the Year" for the South-west region at the prestigious Molson Beda Awards.
Slinky join forces with Privilege for the first major house & garage event of 2002 - THE SOUTH COAST WEEKENDER. Slinky host the main room on Saturday night: Lisa Lashes Graham Gold Rob Tissera Daniel Bailey Tim Lyall Garry White Dave Lea This event kicks off on the weekend of Friday 12th. Tickets costs £90 and the event is to be held at Pontins Holiday Centre, Camber Sands, East Sussex.

In traditional NYE style all the top DJ's are swamping Bournemouth. Alex P will be playing down the new venue club. John 00 Fleming, Tidy Boys, Anne Savage, Daniel Bailey, Tim Lyall will be doing Slinky. DJ Dodge, Jon Commer, and Bob Povey will be at the K-bar. So it looks like another big one. Have a good year and lets looking forward to another hard month of clubbing in to 2003.
We went down to The Opera Houses Big Cheese night and found out its gone up £2 to £12 but it still a free bar(Well free but a two drink/shot limit)
Slinky and the Opera House were sold to Ultimate Pleasure Ltd on the 8th of this month. Future 3000 stated that they are concentrating on Bars and Hotels and are no longer involved in nightclubs.

FIRE has teamed up with Slinky for a night of balearic classics on 15th August with Chris Bailey, JFK plus residents Dav Gomrass & Jon Gurd. It kicks off at The Opera House, Boscombe, from 9pm
